| Finnish symphonic power metallers EXCALION release their third album, "High Time". The follow-up to 2007's "Waterlines" was recorded at Watercastle studio in Jyväskylä, Finland. The CD was produced by EXCALION and Arttu Sarvanne and was engineered and mixed by Arttu Sarvanne. According to the band, the new material "sounds extremely strong. Fans of melodic metal — beware." The band previously stated about the "Waterlines" CD, "The songs are very mature both musically and lyrically. The whole band has improved a lot since their debut album in 2005 and the vocals of Jarmo Paakkonen are more impressive than ever. The actual music is fully rich in the songwriting and playing; it isn't prog or power metal anymore; there are strong influences of Euro melodic metal and U.S. hard rock.
