| In 1985 singer MARK FREE and VANILLA FUDGE drummer CARMINE APPICE released their debut album KING KOBRA - Ready To Strike on Capitol Records, followed by the second album Thrill Of A Lifetime in 1986. MARK quit the band prior to the recording of the third album. Earlier on in 1988 MARK FREE had recorded another album with APPICE and ex KING KOBRA colleague MICK SWEDA. The studio project was called BLACK ROSES. Songwriter JUDITHE RANDALL contacted MARK for joining the SIGNAL project. Two years in the making with the vocals of MARK FREE, SIGNALS album Loud And Clear was released on EMI in early 1990. MARK later had met BRUCE GOWDY and keyboarder GUY ALLISON, and the trio formed UNRULY CHILD. Bassist LARRY ANTONINO and HURRICANE drummer JAY SCHELLEN completed the line-up. Produced by BEAU HILL, the self-titled UNRULY CHILD debut was released in 1991, but the label, Interscope, dropped the band two weeks after the record had hit the stores. A second album was recorded but not released. At this point, MARK FREE decided to put together a solo project and the resulting album, Long Way From Love, released by the British independent NOW & THEN label in 1993. Guests on the album included Finnish vocalist AINA and ex ALICE COOPER bassist ERIK SCOTT. | |
