Born in Germany on the 28th of June in 1970, OLIVER HARTMANN started his musical career at the age of 10. Influenced by the great rock music of that period he formed his first bands at the age of 13 and later joined the award winning hardrock bands MERLIN and HEAT. By starting to focus more and more on singing Oliver joined a professional rock cover band as singer and guitarist. After several other side projects and bands he joined the progressive rock project CENTERS in 1995, which released two albums over the next 3 years. During this time he also started working as a professional studio singer and guitarist. In 1999 he and OLAF LENK formed AT VANCE, which became successful world wide. After 4 albums he left the band and started to focus more on the songwriting for his solo work. Since then his voice has been heard on rock operas as AVANTASIA, AINA and GENIUS as well as on band productions as HAMMERFALL, EDGUY, or HELLOWEEN. His fi rst solo album "Out In The Cold“ was released in 2005. After touring Europe as support for TOTO, he recorded his second album "Home“. On their support with HOUSE OF LORDS and the HOOTERS in summer 2007, HARTMANN performed acoustic versions of their material for the fi rst time. Since the fans showed amazing reactions to this and due to the fact that the band had felt very comfortable with that unplugged style, they decided to play two exclusive shows in the intimate atmosphere of an old German theater in September 2007. Supported by three background singers as special guests both shows were fi lmed and recorded for the new live DVD "Handmade“. It is uniting outstanding material like real "handmade“ versions of both studio albums and previously unreleased tracks. During this summer OLIVER HARTMANN will be on worldwide tour as guitarist for TOBIAS SAMMETS’ AVANTASIA, accompanied by guest singers like JORN LANDE (Ex-MASTERPLAN), ANDRE MATOS (Ex-ANGRA, SHAAMAN), BOB CATLEY (MAGNUM) and many others. In autumn he will proceed touring with HARTMANN again to feature his new live DVD “Handmade”.
