| PowerWorld is the continuation of the Power Metal genre into the present day. Catchy melodies and unmistakeable hooklines, interesting, concise riffs, expressive lyrics and slightly progressive elements woven into intelligent arrangements are what gives this band its unique style. You may well see several familiar faces in the band, but it isn't a project! It took Ilker Ersin quite some time to put together the group of musicians with whom his ideas could become reality. The clear, powerful voice of vocalist Steffen Brunner is reminiscent of the greats of the 80's and 90's. The 23-year-old's talent and the expertise of the rest of the band are what make Powerworld unique! Ilker's lifelong friend Barish Kepic of Jaded Heart is on guitar. The band also includes keyboard player Nils Neumann of Freedom Call and drummer Jürgen "Lucki" Lucas of the band At Vance, with whom he has made numerous international appearances! The band was formed in September 2005, and the lineup was completed in April 2006 with the addition of Jürgen Lucas and Barish Kepic. The band started the recordings of the debut in early 2007. Drums are recorded by Sascha Gerstner of Helloween, the choires are made by Olly Hartmann and Chris Lausmann did the rough-mix of the first 5 songs. The self-produced album is mixed by Ilker Ersin and mastered by Achim Köhler. After signing the record-deal with Metal Heaven in November 2007, the self-titled debut will be released worldwide in March 2008. | |
