PUBLIC DOMAIN is a remarkable 5 piece group from LA which includes multi-talented musicians who have already made their marks in the studio and on stage, playing with Cock Robin, Patty Smythe, Alanis Morisette, Air Supply, Rod Stewart and Elton John, among others. PUBLIC DOMAIN was formed by singer Billy Trudel who, in the past 10 years been one of L.A.'s most sought-after back up vocalists working with a variety of big-name acts including Patti LaBelle, Diana Ross, Rod Stewart and Motley Crue. Billy was also was in the Chrysalis act THE CITY and also fronted the band WARPIPES - a project of Elton John guitarist Davey Johnston. Billy hooked up with his old friend, keyboardist Dave Young who was a big part of writing and producing the debut album from PUBLIC DOMAIN. Guitarist Bruce Watson heard the material, joined the band and ended up contributing to some of the final songs on the album. The last two members to join the band were the rhythm section comprised of drummer Matt Laug who in the last years been in Alanis Morisette's band and bass player Larry Antonino (Unruly Child, Air Supply ). "Radio Nights" is a 13 song exhibition of classic US FM pop/rock. The title track, "Radio Nights" is a up-tempo Sam Cooke meets Journey tune. The passionate ballads such as Child In My Heart and Confetti demonstrate Trudel's Steve Perry-ish voice on beatiful melodies. "Marching On" has a certain Mr Mister inspiration but other influences are noticeable such as Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and maybe even some Toto-ish arrangements and chord progressions. Billy Trudel has in the last year been part of the Elton John's backing band and is still with him. Elton is a huge fan of PUBLIC DOMAIN and even contributed an original song, "Crimes Of Passion" written by him, Bernie Taupin and Davey Johnstone.
