| Back in 1988, Danny Martinez and the brothers Joe and Rob Marone came together to found the rock CAUGHT IN THE ACT. Later, they were joined by guitarist Anthony Trujillo. Empire Records finally discovered the band's incredible musical talents and offered to produce the remarkable debut album titled "Relapse Of Reason" in 1995. With this album, the band won critical acclaim and was subsequently signed to MTM MUSIC. The follow-up album from 1997, "Heat of Emotion", brought member changes and a name change: Due to legal reasons, CAUGHT IN THE ACT had to change their name to "Guild of Ages". Joe and Rob Marone both left the band and were replaced by drummer Steve Stuntz and Jim Lostetter on bass. In 1998, GUILD OF AGES released the first album under the new name. It was entitled "One" and contained a bonus live-CD, recorded in 1997 during their Germany tour. With this record, the boys from Denver had definitely established themselves as one of the best melodic hard rock bands. The next album, "Vox Dominatas", followed in June 1998. "Citadel" was released in 2001. On this album, GUILD OF AGES once again proved, they deserve a place in the front row. Lead singer Danny Martinez and the men around him delivered first-class hard rock along with powerful choirs and an excellent guitar sound: hard, but still melodic. In mid-2001, guitarist Anthony Trujillo left GUILD OF AGES and was replaced by close friend Brian Mesa. GUILD OF AGES continued playing live for another year, but then decided to call it quits. In 2003, the three original and founding members, Danny, Joe and Rob came together again to relive old memories and have a good time. They immediately felt the special magic again, which created CAUGHT IN THE ACT some 15 years ago. Realizing, they need a fourth member to complete the band, Brian Mesa joined in early 2004. This is how RELAPSED came to live and now Danny, Joe, Rob and Brian are recapturing the magic of the past while creating a new sound and vibe. | |
