| Released in 1980, 'Crash And Burn' would consolidate Pat Travers' reputation as a touring act in the States whilst also showing a maturing in both the necessary writing and recording processes. With coast to coast tours with Blue Oyster Cult and pomp rockers Roadmaster under his belt and record sales slowly but steadily climbing, things looked rosy for Mr.Travers. 'Crash And Burn' benefits from a casual, almost cock-sure attitude that leads the listener to feel that this was a fun record to make and that the band that made it where in a very comfortable place at that particular time. When it rocks this album is a real treasure. Perennial live favourite 'Snortin' Whiskey' makes its first appearance here and is one of the album's many highlights. The album was to prove a major success in the States and 'Snortin' Whiskey' was a sizeable radio hit. | |
