The Third Misha Calvin album ‘Riffman’ was to find the Yugoslavian guitar virtuoso in a reflective and adventurous mood. Produced by renowned knob twiddler Martin Smith at The Garage studios and mixed by world famous engineer Rafe McKenna, no expense was spared in an effort to make this the album that would break the man internationally. It wasn’t to be, which is a shame as the album has much to recommend it. Commercial at times in more than a melodic rock fashion, ‘Riffman’ takes in a number of styles and moods during it’s running time. Never boring, this is the sound of an excellent musician stretching his wings…. With three bonus tracks on offer, if you’re new to this album…you’re in for a treat.
