It's been a long wait for Chicago fans, but one that's rewarded with a great new album. So many classic artists have tried to appeal to today's generation by trading their sound for something "alternative", putting a touch of hip-hop in their music or going "all ballad". This album is "no holds barred" Chicago, and only the first track (reprised with a horn mix at the end of the album) could be called "different", but the difference is subtle and mitigated by the trademark vocals Bill, Robert and Jason offer. It offers a fair mix of ballads and uptempo songs, and the album builds up tempo going into the reprise of Feel. All vocalists get time on this album, which should please those who like Bill's style or Robert Lamm's. The album as a whole stands out as one of the best works by any band this decade and one of Chicago's best works ever. To conclude, if you love Chicago, or if you simply love good music, this is the album to get.
