| Renowned Danish hardrock act FATE celebrates its 25th Anniversary with a brand new compilation, entitled 25 Years - The Best Of! The hardrock act was build upon the ashes of Mercyful Fate (guitarist Hank Sherman) and Maxim (Jeff Lox Limbo, Pete Steiner & Bob Lance) and in 1985 they released the album Fate. The album contained the radio hits Love On The Rox & Downtoy Toy, which were hits in Denmark only. In 1986 A Matter Of Attitude followed, with the European hits Wont Stop & Summerlove amongst other great AOR tracks. The album was produced by Svein Dag Hauge, renowned for his work with Norwegian hardrock band T.N.T. Come 1988, Hank Sherman split and the album Cruisin For A Bruisin was released with new guitarist Jakob Moth. Singles were the catchy Lovers & Babe, Youve Got A Friend. In 1989 the band split amicably with singer Jeff Lox Limbo, who was replaced with hardrock singer Per Henriksen. In 1990 a new revitalized FATE released Scratch N Sniff, with new (Swedish) guitarist Matthias IA Eklundh onboard, and FATE hit it big time in Scandinavia with the AOR ballad Freedom. Come 1991, Matthias IA Eklundh quit to concentrate on his own band Freak Kitchen, leaving FATE hanging to the threat of the Seattle grunge-scene. In 1992 FATE quietly disbanded, and the band wouldnt surface until some 13 years later. In 2004, FATE was given an opportunity to perform at the Deep Impact Festival in Germany which eventually lead to the recording of V in 2006! Now FATE has yet another new lead singer, Dagfi nn Joensen, who is a new breath of fresh air in the old hardrock act. To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of FATE, EMI Music Denmark has assembled the very fi rst Best Of FATE release, entitled 25 Years The Best Of Fate. | |
