| TIM FEEHAN (Edmonton,
Canada) graduated from the University of Alberta 1982 and
began his recording / songwriting career quite accidentally
when his college band FOOTLOOSE was asked by a local studio
to record a favourite song. That song "Leaving Tomorrow
For Maui" rocked it´s way to the top of the Canadian
charts, and became the most requested song of the year in
Hawaii. In 1986 he entered a songwriting contest sponsored
by the legendary producer / composer David Foster (known
for his work with Nathalie Cole, Celine Dion, Michael Bolton
etc ... ) and took first place and signed with Scotti Bros./CBS
later that year. The self titled TIM FEEHAN debut was released
in early 1987, gained five A.R.I.A. (Alberta Recording Industry
Association) awards including "Best Pop Performance"
and "Producer of the year". The
first single "Where´s The Fire" was chosen
as the theme song for Charlie Sheen´s motion picture
debut "The Wraith" and it's the most requested
MP3 song on this site. 1987 also saw
Tim win a "Canadian Academy Of Arts & Sciences
JUNO award" for "Most Promising Male Vocalist".
It was at the JUNO´s that Tim
met the late Vancouver guitarist / producer Brian Macleod,
himself A JUNO recipient. Together they began writing and
producing demos that later resulting in Tim´s debut
MCA album "Full Contact". This
album featured collaborations songwriters Bruce Gaitsch
(Madonna´s "La Isla Bonita", Richard Marx´s
"Don´t Mean No Thing" etc...), Gene Black
(HEART´s "Never") and Marc Jordan (Rod Stewart´s
"Rhythm Of My Heart") as well as all-star musicians
James Christian (HOUSE OF LORDS), Randy Jackson (JOURNEY),
Steve Lukather (TOTO), Richard Marx and Praire Prince (THE
TUBES). It took two years for "Full
Contact" to materialise, mainly because Tim wanted
David Cole (Richard Marx, Bob Seger, VIXEN etc.) to co-produce
and had to wait for him to become available. During this
time Tim sang and produced "Dirty Love" on the
James Bond soundtrack "Licence To Kill" and performed
on both "Arthur 2" theme and Dionne Warwick´s
gold album "Reservations For Two". Between
1988-1994 Tim has been involved in numerous projects such
as singer in David Foster´s all-star tour featuring
Lee Ritenour (guitar), Nathan East (bass) and Vinnie Caliuta
(drums). He also performed on the tribute to "The Troops
Of Desert Storm - Voices Who Care". The
biggest thrill came, however, when long time friend Wayne
Gretzky called to ask Tim to sing at his wedding. "He's supported my music for A long time, even when I was struggling" says Tim of their friendship. Tim later composed and performed the song "The Memory Will Last Forever" for a national tribute to the hockey star. In 1996 Tim returned with the album "Pray For Rain" featuring musicians Gene Black, Michael Thompson, Jeff Paris and Chrissy Steele. This album also contained The "In Memory Of Brian Macleod" song "When You Think Of Me". Lately Tim has been writing and producing songs for the teen pop star "Tiffany" as well as Boyz 2 Men. Tim has written songs for artists such as CHICAGO, CONTRABAND, EDDIE MONEY and THE OSMONDS. Also produced and wrote pop star Tiffany's critically acclaimed "Color of Silence". Currently working with Brian Mcknight, Bone thugs n Harmony, Krayzie Bone, Julie Wood and Mojophonic. TIM FEEHAN's history is impressive - the future is still unwritten |
