| There can be very little doubt that Robin George is one of the most talented men in rock. He may also be just about the unluckiest. On a number of occasions, like when Bronze records went bust just as his career was about to go stratospheric in the mid eighties or when Phil Lynott sadly died just as he had secured the job as Thin Lizzy's new second guitarist, fate has stuck two fingers up at the man. Not that he lingers on these cruel turns of event. He's been too busy working over the years producing - Diamond Head, Glenn Hughes, and a number of other notables have benefited from his studio acumen - writing for the likes of Glenn Hughes, Robert Plant and many others and playing in Magnum, Asia, his own touring projects….and very nearly Duran Duran! 'Bluesongs' is business as usual for the man who almost single handedly ushered in the age of techno AOR with 1985's seminal 'Dangerous Music'. Times may change, but Robin George is still a force to be reckoned with…and 'Bluesongs' is the proof of that! | |
