| After L.A.'s most promising metal band Steeler, fronted by Ron Keel, broke up after Swedish guitar phenom Yngwie Malmsteen left to form Alcatrazz, frontman Ron Keel began assembling KEEL. The bands debut album, Lay Down the Law, was Shrapnel Records 14th release and was a strong enough record to attract a number of interested major labels as well as Kiss bassist Gene Simmons. KEEL continued to dominate in the metal underground and experienced more mainstream acceptance as the opening act on Bon Jovis Slippery When Wet tour. Remastered from the original master tapes, this record still sounds awesome and is housed in an attractive, limited edition digi-pak cover, featuring liner notes by the bands founder, Ron Keel. | |
