| Before Lionsheart, before Onslaught, before even Grim Reaper…there was MEDUSA. Vocalist Steve Grimmett and future Wrathchild guitarist and drummer Lance Perkins and Eddie Smith formed the band in late 1978, making them one of the first NWOBHM acts of note. The band never got to release any material, making these previously unheard recordings incredibly important for fans of the NWOBHM and Mr. Grimmett alike. Taken from two demo recordings and a live rehearsal, the sound is raw and exciting. This is one of the greatest rock vocalists of his generation taking his initial steps into professional music. By early 1982, Grimmett had joined Grim Reaper and the rest, as they say, is metal history. | |
