| Inspired by the rock scene in the early 80's, young Andreas Novak picked up the guitar and spent the rest of that decade listening and learning from the contemporary rock bands like KISS, Queen, Journey, Van Halen, Rainbow, Judas Priest, Yes, Genesis, Def Leppard - and guitar heroes like Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Ace Frehly and Gary Moore. Andreas appeared mainly as a guitar player in various local bands during the 80’s, singing lead only when there wasn´t any "real" singers around. With singing influences such as Dio, Halford, Glenn Hughes, Joe Lynn Turner, Freddie Mercury and Steve Perry Andreas didn´t consider himself to ever be able to deliver what he would demand from a lead singer. He concentrated mainly on his guitar, but at a time when the world was full of guitarists and the lack of competent lead singers was obvious, his choice to develop his singing skills came naturally. Eventually he started to consider himself more of a lead singer and frontman.New opportunities unfolded immediately, and he´s been busy ever since both playing live and doing studio sessions. Studying at the Stockholm Music Conservatory in 1998, Andreas got in touch with the progressive rock band Mind's Eye and stepped in as their newlead singer. Mind´s Eye released four successful albums 2000-2007. With lots of help from a number of handpicked talented guest musicians and co-writers, Andreas' first solo album "Forever Endeavour" saw the light of day in 2005. First ideas for his second solo album "Novakation" took shape and were recorded already back in 2006, but it would take four years to complete the sequel . Andreas parted ways with Mind's Eye in June 2009 and was soon approached by the band House of Shakira that was in need of a new lead singer. This band was exactly Andreas cup of tea, and they immidiately started working on material for a brand new album with Andreas behind the microphone. "Novakation" is a result of inspiration, ideas and influences from Andreas entire music life - one segments was actually written as early as1987. | |
