| The original release of this CD was plagued with problems including the record company went bankrupt and the band broke up weeks after its release - it was nearly impossible to obtain. All this aside, "The Hunter" is a masterpiece of 80's Thrash and Germanic Power Metal. PERSUADER is the example of the natural progression that the 80's Bay-area-sound would take if it was played by a bunch of guys that grew up listening to melodic Power Metal-bands like HELLOWEEN. Similar material to METALLICA of old, but played and recorded with a hurried, violent, Punk-infested feel that threatens to rip your heart out. The band weaves tales that span Prog, Speed, ultra-heavy yet melodic thrashy (wow!) Power Metal-arrangements that make you beg for more. Song after song simply waste the place, sent above the clouds by soaring vocals and duelling axework, a simply amazing rhythm section, speeding songs up then slowing them down, everything your instructor told you not to do. One of those rare bands with a sound all their own. This is a wonderful creation from a Scandinavian killing machine called PERSUADER. | |
