The five veteran musicians that make up the Finnish band CONQUEST have produced a debut album that will set them apart from the crowd. Drummer Tuomo Lassila is a founder member of the band STRATOVARIOUS and played on their first four albums. Bassist Marco Hietala is a former member of the well know band, TAROT. The other three have also been active in a variety of European bands over the last 15 years. Vocalist Goodman comes across as a mixture of James Scott Soto and Graham Bonnet, such is the power of his range. With the subtle addition of keyboards and clever percussion, the musical formula on this record proves to be a winner. The guitar work of Heikki Warma has to be heard to be believed – check out the track “Heat Of The Flame” to see what we mean. The lush keyboards and melodic mayhem give way to mystical ballads that, all-in-all will set your speakers alight.
