After working with many important rock and progressive bands in the area of Tuscany (Airspeed, Time Escape, Diaframma), Fabrizio Pieraccini, Guido Melis, Michele and Giovanni Fanfani formed GREEN in September 1998. Brought together by a common passion for rock, Green began an intense live activity, offering in their shows a tribute to the great classic rock bands: The Who, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Queen, Pink Floyd and many others. Gig after after gig, Green developed their own sound and matured the need to compose their own material. Day after day this need took shape and developed into a very ambitious and fascinating project: a concept album entitled “LIFE”. The shows for the promotion of “Life” (very well received on the main music magazines all over Europe), released in May 2003 on Frontiers Records, brought Green to play in the Frontiers Records Showcase in Rome, together with Glenn Hughes (ex Deep Purple, Black Sabbath), Royal Hunt and Talisman. After several gigs in Italy, in March 2004 the band began to work on his second album. At the same time, there was a change in the line up: Guido Melis, left the band to pursue his own music project with the band Underfloor. So, the band started to look for a new bass player, and, since the basic idea for the new album was to head towards a more aggressive sound than “Life”, the guys decided to have a second guitar player as well. So, when the recording sessions were already begun, two new members Jacopo Torrini e Valentino Berto joined the band giving their contribution both for the arrangements and for the mix of the new material. In May 2005 the band finished the recording of “Of Love And Soul” a much mature effort showcasing an aggressive yet melodic and colorful approach to the music and songwriting. Following the steps of “Life”‘s most intriguing moments (“I Still Love” in particular) the new album is a real milestone for italian melodic Hard and Progressive Rock.
