The Geman metal band Ra’s Dawn was founded in early 2001. Due to the very diverse musical influences of every single band member, the outcome of the song-writing process appeared to be quite interesting and sophisticated. So from the beginning on, well thought out song-structures, tricky rhythms and memorable melodies left a mark on the band’s work; straight, powerful parts alternated with complex and progressive parts. On the lyrical field the band often deals with aspects of the Egyptian mythology as the name Ra’s Dawn implies. Therefore oriental scales and arrangement are being used to fulfil this lyrical concept comprehensively. After having released two demo CD’s (“Solar Force” in 2002 and “Unveiling The Grotesque” in 2004) the band entered the well-known Area 51 studios in Celle where top-producer Tommy Newton (Victory, Conception, Ark, Redemption, UFO, Helloween just to name a few) recorded, mixed and mastered their official debut “Scales Of Judgement” which will be released on August 25th through the German label Metal Heaven. ARK/ Conception guitarist Tore Ostby guests for a solo on the track “Anubis”. The cover was designed by Mattias Norén. At live-appearances a lively and dynamic onstage performance is guaranteed! Not only playing the music, but furthermore the interaction with the audience and among themselves is a very distinctive trademark of Ra’s Dawn. Fun and a professional performance always go hand in hand when it comes to a Ra’s Dawn show. Since the founding of the band they randomly kept played gigs with loads of local bands and also some majors like Threshold, Dead Soul Tribe or Rebellion.
